HAPPY HOUR GUIDE
Edmonton
2 happy hours across 2 areas — cocktails, wine, raw bars and bites at Edmonton's best restaurants and bars, with confirmed days and times.
Worth knowing in Edmonton
Edmonton prints the hour the way Calgary does: an afternoon list, sometimes a second one late, and a price on the venue’s own page.
The rule
Alberta allows a posted drink discount at any hour, above a low minimum. A 2-for-1 is not allowed, so it is not on these cards. GST is 5%, with no provincial sales tax, and it is not in the menu price. A tip is extra. You must be 18. See the Canada page.
The custom
Jasper Avenue does a steakhouse hour, 4 to 6:30, at 20% off the oysters and the drinks. Whyte Avenue does a shorter one, 4 to 5, at $5 off, and repeats it in the last hour of service. A dated dinner special that is not the happy hour stays off the card.
Using the Atlas here
Every Edmonton card in this first wave was read on the venue’s own site in October 2026. “$5 off” and “20% off” are the discounts the pages print, not a guess at the regular price.
Across Canada
Canadian happy hour is the same shape as the American one — a posted afternoon window — with provincial minimum prices underneath it and a tax line that does not match the US bill.
