Worth knowing in Paris
Paris’s happy hour is a weekday apéro with a printed price. A terrace that is simply a café all evening is a different thing.
The rule
France allows a posted drink discount. An open bar is not. During the cheaper hour the venue is supposed to match it with a non-alcoholic reduction and announce both the same way. You must be 18. Prices include VAT, and service is usually already in the number. See the France page.
The custom
The windows these rooms actually print cluster from 5 to 8, or to 9. Le Marais is La Perla, cocktails at €8.20, Monday to Friday, and not on a public holiday. Chaillot is Café Fleurus, a short cocktail list at €8.50, a 12 cl glass of wine at €6, a draft at €7. Ternes is Solis, beer and wine at €6 and a spritz at €12, Monday to Saturday until 9. Ménilmontant is Le Styx, cocktails at €7.50 and a mocktail at €5.50. Ledru-Rollin is Le 101, a blonde pint at €5 and cocktails at €7.50, every day. Plaisance is Partage, classic cocktails at €9, Monday to Saturday from 6 to 8, against a later price of €12.
Using the Atlas here
Every Paris card in this first wave was read on the venue’s own site in October 2026. A line at €8.20 or €9 is one drink at that price. Six oysters and a glass for €10, on a Tuesday at Partage, is a package for that day, and it lives in the note. A promotion with no end time, a chain tex-mex board, and a page whose hours disagree with themselves were left off.
Across France
France allows a happy hour. The cheaper hour has to come with a cheaper non-alcoholic drink as well, announced the same way, and an open bar is not a legal format. In Paris the window that gets printed is usually a weekday list from 5 to 8.
The vibe
A Mediterranean tapas bar on Rue de Charenton, with a blonde pint and a cocktail list from 5 to 8.
