The rule
New Zealand allows a posted drink discount. You must be 18. GST is 15% and is already in the price. A tip is not expected. A promotion that pushes people to drink too much is an offence. See the New Zealand page.
The custom
The Viaduct, Wynyard and the CBD cluster from about 3, 4 or 5 until 6 or 7. Karangahape Road and Herne Bay do a neighborhood version of the same list. A “from $15” line is the floor of the drinks on that hour, not one named cocktail at that price.

Every Auckland card in this first wave was read on the venue’s own site in October 2026. A line at $8, $10 or $12 is one drink at that price. Oysters at $2 are each. A page that names the hour and leaves the price off is not on the list.
